Personally..... they are all overrated and WAYYYYY over paid.... $100K a year, travel expenses, and some form of retirement should suffice.

From this list, I'd say Keyshawn Johnson is not even a middle-tier receiver. He has never lived up to the type. Add anyone who plays for the Raiders and Dolphins. Dante Culpepper, Chris Chambers, Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, and Lamont Jordan have suddenly become liabilities (especially for us FFL owners).

Eli Manning may not have all of the physical assets of his brother, but he's improved in each of his 3 seasons and can certainly be included in the next tier of QB's that rank behind P. Manning and McNabb.

Put Vick on team that knows how to utilize his talents and he becomes a perennial all-pro. Try to imagine Vick with the Cowboys with Jones, TO, Glenn, and Parcells or with the Redskins with Moss, Porter, and Gibbs. Atlanta simply has not figured out how to use Vick.

Big Ben has already proven his ability to play big in big games and as a 3rd year quarterback, he's still developing. Unfortunately, he's gone through more injuries and issues in one season than most players go through in a career. He had an awful game last week and probably should have sat one more week after getting concussed the week prior and not getting in a full practice week.

Any of these 3 QB's would make a poor NFL team competitive.

I'm not surprised TO is so high on the list, if it wasn't for his mouth I don't think he would be nearly that high. Without his off-field/non-game issues, there isn't a reciever I'd rather have.

I would argue Urlacher is UNDERrated not overated. Watch him play... he hits everything. Lewis, may be slightly overtated now that he's a little older, but after Urlacher (maybe before) I can't think of a better player to anchor a defense.

And Vick, he's amazingly exciting to watch. If he continues to throw the ball like he has the last two weeks and use his legs as an exception rather than the rule... He will soon fall off this list.

I think professional sports teams bring soooo much revenue to a city that it's really hard to argue they are overpaid. Better players generally make better team a better team brings more fans, ticket sales, out-of-towners using hotels, restraunts etc. Not to mention the number of jobs created around teams and the small business's that are created etc. Oh and payroll tax, television revenue, apparel sales - list just goes on.

Yes, atheletes are paid a LOT of money, but they generate so much more it's hard to say they are overpaid. I'm not an accountant/economist or anything, but would venture to guess if teams were not good for a city economy (with the pricetag of the athletes and stadiums that go along with them), then cities would not fight so hard to attract and keep them.

I agree with you that they are good for the economy and in return deserve to be paid well but when you hear some of the salaries these guys are getting it is ridiculous........ Low millions I’ll buy into........... $60, $80, $100 million......I think not.......... if there is that much to go around........... my property taxes don't need to be paying for them to toss a ball.........

There is also the issue of them being roll models (or the lack there of) but that's an entirely different argument......... Criminal athletes should be banned from sports entirely........
