I cant stand when entertainers try to talk about politics like they know something. They live in their own world and have no idea what real hardworking americans lives are like. WTF makes them an expert on politics just because they can sing or act. Most of them are not even educated past highschool. They think becuase we like there music or movies we give a crap about there political views. So in my opinion they shoulf shut the fuck up and do what they are good at before the real americans that buy there tickets dvds cds what ever else they sell decide to stop doing so and then they will be on the street because they have no other asset besides there talent.

You just described my entire opinion of Ronald Reagan. Couldn't have said it better myself.

The question should be ... Why does it really upset you? I can't be the only one to think this.
I'm not paying you.

Why does it upset me? I said it before, I go to concerts to forget about life for awhile, not listen to some moron with a mic pontificate, especially after I paid to hear them do anything BUT pontificate.

Sure it's my right to not go, and I exercise that right a lot now.

*Standing Ovation

1 thing to add: The people in the audience should not be voting or not voting for a candidate becuase their favorite rock band told them to... scary huh?

I think your all forgetting though, there are many entertainers that have made their careers by speaking about political issues. Yes, it has worked against some entertainers (like the Dixie Chicks) but think of all the other great entertainers whose careers have literally been made because they spoke out against something.

It's not fair to say that it's ok for some and not ok for others based upon the agenda they are currently pushing. If it's good for one, it's got to be good for all.

Yes, we all remember when Sinead O'Conner tore up the picture of the pope on SNL. Definately not a great career move. But in contrast and I hate to use this example again, U2 has made it's entire career singing about politics... After all they are a Christian rock band...

So when is it ok and when is it not ok? Streisand is probably still filling every seat in the house.

U2 did not make a career on political issues. And they definately where not a christian rock band. they had some pretty sick songs back then. If im not mistaken that song with the lyric " I want to fuck you like an animal" was them wasnt it. And U2 is more about raising money for aids and hunger. Besides U2 isnt that popular anymore so maybe it did hurt there career.
By the way what other entertainer do you know got popular talking about politics. I cant think of one at all.

Quicksilver will become famous soon enoughQuicksilver will become famous soon enough
For me? If your an entertainer and you have something to say, then fine say it. But to go on and on and on and on.............. it's tiresome. SHUT UP AND SING. Many entertainers have had their 2 cents to say about the problems of the day. But do I need to see a stage play about your beliefs. Naw, don't think so. State your case make it brief and give me what i paid for. Otherwise i'll pay to go and see someone who's know what their talking about. Not some emotional neurotic diva.

Um, I might be wrong here but "I want to fuck you like an animal" is from the song "Closer" and is a Nine Inch Nails song from the Downward Spiral album.. Which conincidentally was written by Trent Reznor while he was living in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson.
And it would seem to me that an album, written, produced and recorded in the house of a famous murder is actually much more offensive than a political message..
It is a great album though..

And U2 became popular (don't quote me on this because I can't support it with evidence) by speaking out about the war between the IRA and England and stuff. Hence the albums, WAR, Sunday Bloody Sunday, etc.

And as far as other rockers, how about John Lennon? He was one of the most outspoken proponents for peace, vietnam, etc.
