And U2 became popular (don't quote me on this because I can't support it with evidence) by speaking out about the war between the IRA and England and stuff. Hence the albums, WAR, Sunday Bloody Sunday, etc.

Those were SONGS about politics, if someone objects to them, then they wouldn't go to the concert.

And it would seem to me that an album, written, produced and recorded in the house of a famous murder is actually much more offensive than a political message..
It is a great album though..

And as far as other rockers, how about John Lennon? He was one of the most outspoken proponents for peace, vietnam, etc.

My bad. I dont know why i thought it was U2 but its a badass song non the less. I didnt know that little fact about where it was written. Cool to know

If you like that song Dinan, you should listen to the whole album. It is amazingly creepy and fantastic all at the same time. You can actually feel the darkness of the murder site rapped up into the album.. I would say next to Pink Floyd The Wall and Pink Floyd Animals, Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails is one of the most "Complete" music albums I have ever heard. It is a journey into madness and a great album for driving music.

Here is some info I lifted from Wikipedia:
DOWNWARD SPIRAL BY NINE INCH NAILS:

Most of the album was recorded at Le Pig in Beverly Hills, California, a studio space built by Reznor in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by members of the Manson Family. Before leaving the house, Trent claimed the infamous 'pig' door, and as of July 2006 the door is still located at the (former) Nothing Studios in New Orleans.
Its final song, "Hurt", was famously covered by Johnny Cash a short while before his death in 2003, and the song is sometimes mistakenly attributed in authorship to Cash. However, one line of the lyrics was altered: 'crown of shit' became 'crown of thorns', possibly to remove the profanity but also in reference to Christ's passion. The altered lyric is also present in the "Clean" version (radio edit).
It is a concept album based around the story of a character losing control of his life and finding himself on a downward spiral resulting from his choices. Its plot follows the character as he tries to rid himself of the trappings of religion and society, using sex and drug abuse as methods of escape. Eventually, this character has to face his internal void. Reznor himself is a sufferer of bipolar disorder and is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict.

I still see it as the same thing. Example: Someone voices their opinion about the president in front of thousands of people, these people don't get to have a rebuttal. Someone verbally attacks a person about their opinions about the president in a forum where there is no rebuttal from the attacked. The fact is that in both situations there is no dialog between the 2 parties. Only comments, insults, and opinions. Streisand saying something about the presiden,t without a return comment from him. AND Quicksilver, you saying something about Streisand without a return comment from her.

Hey we all like to do it, I'm just calling it like I see it. I'm not defending her, I don't even like her. Not the point though.

The difference might be that she COULD come here and comment (and although she could) she wouldn't have to pay to hear me sing. The choice would be hers. People at her concerts don't get the choice.

But that's the far left belief! The rest of us are not educated or smart enough to think for ourselves. We have to be told what is "correct". Her response to dialogue (criticism) was "SHUT THE F**K UP!" Have you noticed the "liberals" is not liberal at all.
