Bump for da' Unimog. Or a Touareg...I should post a pic of my friend's Toareg after a day in Ocal National Forest...I gotta say, the Touareg walks AWAY from it all off road...and you can get a V-10 diesel.

Am I in the right thread? I can't tell anymore...eff it, I'm off to www.advrider.com

My dad loves his Toureg (sp). Just picked up his second, a 2006 V10 diesel. They have a place up in the moutains (Not far from Dr Jay - Wayne County PA) and it kicks ass off road.

VW missed the market most people don't go off road. In order to go off road VW made it way to heavy and small. The Q7 is an over grown Toureg which is a better highway car but it still has the weight from the basic design.

Trying to get back on track, I'd like some input as well, I'm thinking about getting an H2, no I do not offroad, so I do not care that. Either that or I've been eyeing a silver 300C SRT8.

If don't go off road why get a H2?

If you need a really big SUV get the new Suburban or GMC Denali.

If you want something smaller, and in a class of its own, get the 2007 X5.

Because I can? I didn't realize I had to buy a vehicle based on function alone. The X5 is basically worthless, I can fit more into our RX300 and it has a way better nav system despite being a year older.

i'm sorry but rx300 is a jackedup Camry, no way it'll drive like an X5. i doubt you can fit more in it than the X5, if you flip down the back seats in the x5

as far as the H2, don't buy it. H2 is absolutely nothing special besides how it looks.
it's not a good offroader at all, don't believe all the marketing hoopla, that's just smart marketing from GM to sell a Tahoe with different skin for 20k more than it's worth.
second of all, if you have a bimmer, now even a 90s model has a better interior than cheap plastic the hummer has. not to mention, handling, breaking, cornering, oh ya you do know real world is about 8mpg city right?

if you want an offroader get a G500, 3 locking diffs, neck in neck with H1 best offroaders

if you want a grocery go getter and be bored out of your mind, won't have to worry about little quirks, get an RX300

if you have a billion kids that you haul around all day, join every other mother on the block and get a Suburban

if you want a grocery go getter, a performer, an all around do it all, one that has a soul, get an X5

ps: one thing H2 got going for it though, you can fit 26's on there, you can't do that on X5, Rx300, etc. /end sarcasm
