1. Gotham Bar & Grill: one of the top 10 restaurants in the city for food, decor and service. E. 12th near University Place. Can make reservations through OpenTable.com. Takes 2-3 weeks to get a reservation.
2. Balthazar: on Spring Street in SoHo. Takes 2-3 weeks to get a reservation, and have to call the restaurant directly -- they're not on OpenTable.com.

Thanks, everyone who gave input. My wife and I had a great weekend in SoHo. We ended up eating at Balthazaar, as well as Fiamma-both great picks! Also had to have a few slices of good ol' NY pizza!
 SoHo Grand was a great pick. Anyone down there has got to go to Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven! Great place to visit for chocoholics that appreciate great quality chocolate (like me).  Thanks again. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
