NEW YORK - Cell phone owners will be allowed to break software locks on their handsets in order to use them with competing carriers under new copyright rules announced Wednesday.

That's great news. So I have Verizon right now. Is Sprint the only other CDMA network? What's the upside for me? It's all about "me" right?

T Mobile, I think you can buy it unlocked, but I just got the new Samsung or whatever it is phone I had at west fest like 2 mos ago, can't justify it, esp after last nights purchase!
