I wouldn't be surprised.. Ironically, just as I went out to test to see if the radio did, in fact, work, the ipod adaptor stopped working.

Sorry about that...I guess it's my fault...

I was at the local dealer's on Saturday, for services on the 325xi and the X5 (Inspection 1 on both). I let my sales rep know I was coming in, and we crawled over the E90, E46 convertible, and 530s with and without sport package. Waiting to see the 530xiT in 4 weeks, and starting to plan for the next trade (no rush, probably next spring). the 530xiT would replace the X5, and an E90 would replace the E46. Another option is to wait for the E90 convertible, and trade both the Z and the E46 on a 330 sport convertible. Going to wait to drive the ones available now when the 5 touring is in stock.

I was very impressed with the E90, a little more room makes a big difference if you are 6'4, 230 lb. I liked the dash, on both the E60 and E90. Not sure how to deal with the sunroof, I usually order without a sunroof to pick up more headroom, but they are becoming standard now, and the panorama roof is worse. Sales rep is looking into a special order with a delete sunroof code.

Despite all the negative comments on the styling changes, I think BMW is going to sell boatloads of these.

JCL: I'm pretty sure IdiotDrive is an opt., as is NAV: neither of which I want/need/care about. I'd still be checking the dipstick, then.

Not quite as full figured/muscled as you are, but at 6'1" and 215, seat and legroom is a consideration.

I like our X, it's jes'getting to be decision time for a few things: mainly the warr. and 1 yr Ext Maint is going by-bye in Sept. I would not keep it w/out some kind of ext.warr, eg WarrDirect, et al. Have little interest in a new X5, (v.pricey), interested in X3, but the new 330 sport/6Spd is getting my fever up, :p . And, we will be "doing winters" in our new little seasonal starter shack in FlawRaDuh; thus the absolute need for AWD/XDrive is diminishing...

OTOH, the dough diff via trade is considerable and not sure I have Spydrz's balls for a brand new model, vis a vis the potential glitch factor.

Just mouthing off, "outloud", on the board...it's cheaper than actually kicking tars and getting sucked in!

Jeff: You gotta a good plan there, though, imo.

I hear you with the first model year glitches...I'm hoping that the $tealer will take care of me if anything goes wrong. Those issues certainly crossed my mind as well...
As for the iDrive, I don't have it. However, the oil level is checked in the Board Computer--there is no dipstick...

I think that's really wierd... I don't think it's a good idea either. What if the sensor was broken? It would be hard to tell if it was broken.. Hmm...

Valid points...however, as long as it's under warranty, it's not my problem...

Here's another thing to think about, MD--not only is there no dipstick, but there's no "real" key--only this one that inserts into the dash, and a Start/Stop button...this one has me more worried than the dipstick. I'm waiting for an issue with this.
