I've thought that regular Audi's a bit on the soft side in terms of body control. I still maintain in my mind that the B5 S4 is the best tuned vehicle I have driven thus far. Ride was perfectly damped, not much body lean, communicative, planted yet not harsh; I've never driven a vehicle that has as perfectly weighted steering as it either (not quite as communicative as an e46, but damn close).

From what you and streetsoffire have shared, the S6 def deserved a strong consideration. Will check out Audiworld for more.

Thanks guys.

Vignesh

Best of luck, Vignesh!

PS - You won't go wrong with an S6...just check the history, get a CarFax and buy from an Audi enthusiast who keeps detailed records and takes obsessive care of his ride

they are going to be pretty hard to find. Nevetheless the 4.2 V8 is a great motor and knock on wood has been very reliable in our S4. The Tip is pretty good too. The avants (S4 or S6) both hold their value very well and are very well sorted out.

As Josh and I can both attest, the B6 S4 is a great car. I had a sedan, he has an Avant. Would an Avant S4 work for you? No question it would be a hoot, but space-wise it would be tighter than an S6.
