When did we decided that this woman needs to be mentioned in the news all the time. I mean Wolfe Blitzer is even in on the act. Whew.................

Again this is not a slam on Anna Nicole Smith. It's a question about the media.

I guess the news media created her with sound bites.
They destroyed her with sound bites.
Now their preaching eulogy in sound bites.

You're right, it isn't important....people die every day but apparently money-grubbin' bimbos are worth the time...similar to how the dipsh_t media handles Paris Hilton.

NPR & PBS should not bring in any revenue. I know in recent years they have been forced to have sponsors for some programming since their budgets have been continually cut, but prior to around 15 years ago, PBS did not have any advertising -- and that is the way it should be, for all news programs. Then they would not care about revenue and ratings. They would care more about reporting the news.

What ever happen to serious, fact driven, news cast? Even in the early nineties, CNN was more believable than it is now.

If you want that, here are 2 good sources:

1) BBC World News
2) Pacifica Radio's FSRN news program.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/. Anna Nicole made the cover there too. As well as fashion tips for Hillary.

Why are people fascinated with train wrecks and all things grotesque? Anna Nicole Smith was both a train wreck and grotesque in her own way. It's brain candy that appeals to people's prurient interest. I think it's the same reason why all the reality shows have been such commercial successes.

I think some people don't realize that a dull life is a very fulfilling life. So they seek their excitement thru the so called exciting lives of others who in reality have no life at all.

I do check out the celeb news if for no other reason than to laugh at them. Much of it does make me appreciate my "normal" life.
