You aren't going to BELIEVE what just happened...

Well I just went out and ran some errands. I had to go to the bank in Epsom so I stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way. So I went through the drive-thru and ordered my usual iced latte. I payed and I was waiting for it to come out when a black Durango with Texas plates drove by. They then hit the brakes pretty hard and then they did like a U-turn out into the street and came back and parked next to me. They motioned for me to open my window so I cracked it. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my car that I couldn't see. So guess what they guy says! "Hey dude I have this nice surround sound stereo! I got an extra one and I'll sell it to you real cheap! Do you want it?" I was like "no." Hmm see any similarities?! That's EXACTLY what the people said at Wendy's back in December! It was the EXACT same thing! Of course, the people today didn't offer to let me get into their car and see it .... I was laughing my ass off the whole way to the bank! Oh man.. I guess there's like a ring of people doing that.. I cant decide if they're pedophiles or just people selling stolen stereo equipment... The guy didn't look like a pervert or anything, but looks can be deceiving. Hmm... I wonder if it's the car or just my stunning good looks!

CJ - you obviously have the look of someone that is in dire need of a new stereo system. Maybe while you are over in Spain you can check into a new hair style or something j/k

Haha IDK... Some tell me I look old, but I think I look young for my age. Still..

I'd like to see Jacko try to fit in the back seat.... Have you seen how small the back seat of the E46 is?

Uh oh, looks like CJ will have to get rid of the 330xi and get a Hyundai or a Focus. I think that they see a young looking kid like you in a newer BMW, whatever model, and they think they've got a sucker on the line.

I suggest you get a fake mustache and beard to try and look older.

I should convince my mom that the X5 was safer because.. idk it was bigger? I could manage it. There's an Imola 4.8 sitting right out in front of Tulley with my name on it!

CJ,

It's an old scam.. New Yorkers such as myself have been familiar with this type of going on for years.
- sometimes the stereo's fell off of the back of a truck !
- sometimes they show you a model and sell you a sealed box that has nothing but a brick in it.
- sometimes you get the cash, they meet you in an alley, beat the crap out of you and take your cash..

- as you already know. The saying goes "If it looks to good to be true, it probably is."

Your smart about not entertaining the idea of buying the stuff.

8 years ago when I was living in Manhattan, I had a friend who I thought was pretty street wise. One night we were coming out of a bar and a homeless guy was carrying a box for a brand new video camera, sealed and everything. He was trying to sell it for $150 and my friend took the bait despite 3 of us strongly urging him to walk away. My friend got the cash and did the exchange. Upon trying to open it, it became obvious this was not a factory seal. He ripped the box open and found a nice red brick where a camera should have been. He went running after the homeless guy (we did not follow) again urging him to let it go.
- when my friend caught up to the homeless guy they had a scirmage that ended with the homeless guy pulling out some sort of homemade shank and trying to stab my friend.
- My friend wanted to know why we didn't follow and try to help. I told him he should not have bought the box and furthermore, he shouldn't have gone running after some fucked up crack head. He had the nerve to be mad at us.
- Well, I don't speak to that friend anymore, mostly because he was a stupid coke head and often put us in postions that could lead into trouble.

Moral of the story, don't hang out with coke heads and don't buy electronics off the street. And, if you have a friend(s) that you feel don't use good judgement and can put you in a position to find yourself compromised or possibly getting beat up, arrested, etc. LOSE THOSE FRIENDS.. Life is too short.
