The truth is the bible was written thousands of years ago. Are we truly supposed to live our lives based on a book written that long ago? Think of how much scientific knowledge we have gained in the past 50 years, let alone the past 2,000 some-odd years. Also, the Bible was not written by Jesus, it was written by other people. Ever hear of something called human error? Anyone could really have written what they wanted. How are they going to check the facts? I'm sure the meanings of plenty of things got lost in translation, considering how long it took them to get around to actually writing everything down. Don't get me wrong, I believe in God. However, I think religion has everything backwards.
