I knew it was Montreal- just don't get that kind of achitecture on this side of the pond anywhere else.
Glad you had a good trip, Matt! Sorry to hear about the travel troubles but y'all made it safely

Oh, sorry hate to bring this thread back up. But I can't resist one of the best parts about driving in Canada.
The highways..........are amazing!!! Of course, the further north you get, there are the usual bumps and cracks. But near the US/CDN border, A-15 was glass smooth!!!!!! Normally the X3 finds the smallest bump, but I noticed a difference in the flat smooth pavement immediately!! I couldn't resist imagining myself on the autobahn and brought it up to 95mph for a short time. Once we got back to I-87, I started complaining about how every 300 feet, the Americans must have had a momentary brain lapse and made a bump, which the X3 transmitted clearly to the passengers. To the Canadians, are all your roads this good?! Lucky you! |

Nope they're not. In fact, most of the roads in Alberta/BC are full of potholes and waves due to frost heave. I can't speak for the East however. It's funny though as I think the exact same thing when I drive down to Cali, when I hit I5 I'm amazed at how smooth it is, and more important, no rocks on the road. I swear you have to replace your windshield once a year in Canada!
