most dealers were only offering me $10,000 for my car (!!!!!!!!) but sonnen's offering me $14,000. they also chopped the price of their car by $6K. the net difference, now, out the door, is just over $35K. my UPPERMOST LIMIT was $35K. so i'm going to try to get them to get below $35K. My target was $32K-$33K.

You'll pay tax on M3-X5value instead of the full thing. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
Eh, it might not be worth it to do it that way based on the tax benefits. |

Do you owe anything on the car?

nope, don't owe anything on the x5.
also: is it really true that m3's are as reliable as i've heard? it's really not as big a deal that it has 37,000 miles? czu that's the only fly in the ointment for me -- i do wish it had <30,000 miles, but oh well ... i got my X at 37,000 miles too ![]() i've have heard that the germany-built BMWs -- and, FWIW, the Benzes too -- are far more reliable than the american-built ones. go figure?
