I don't think it shows much more than what would be visible if the person wore a Lycra body suit like speed skaters wear. Given that they can single you out for a pat-down already I think the scan is less intrusive.

The original version showed all the naughty bits, etc. They have added the privacy filter software to hide the naugty bits.

But the concern is what if TSA records your X-ray video and they are hacked and next thing your X-ray is posted on youtube.com by the hacker and X-ray video collection is all over Hackistan with DVDs sold in China for 99 cents.
