Happens to me too Vinuneuro. Is it a big drop in dl speed? How many files are being downloaded and what is your total dl speed?

For every packet you receive your BTclient has to send out an "OK got it" before the next packet is sent out. So if you are using up most of your bandwidth on the dl side and then browsing around using up the rest of it you'll end up in a never ending queue with your torrent client constantly waiting for a ping! slowing the whole process down.

Hope this answers your question.

Well, torrents don't work like that. The maximum upload speed is based upon your upload speed and everyone else's upload speed. You usually wont get more than 1mbps. If you want to test file download speed, download something from the microsoft site here

Most ISP's will also cap your bandwidth if they see a steady stream (they realize what you're doing and don't want you to hammer their other customers on the same "pop)

Interesting site...hadn't tested speed since I moved into verizon FIOS land...

download at 21.24 mbs
upload at 1.8 Mbs

Speakeasy shows me at 3084 kbps down, 1837 kbps up.

Not bad. It's been fairly reliable too.
