The 330cic loaner I had was the same way! Horrid!

You know the E39 5-series sports wagon had more cargo capacity than the E53 X5 right?

There's also the 9-5 Wagon, which isn't too bad.
They're front wheel drive.. We live on a very, very steep hill so all-wheel drive is a must. I agree, the 9-3 SportCombi isn't bad looking. I really like the rear lights, very distinctive.

My mom's idea of a good car is one that has a big cargo area and is safe. She doesn't care about driving pleasure, she hates driving anyway. I, however, enjoy driving, so I chose a car I'd enjoy driving. She doesn't know what she's missing
She's a real right-laner, but when she drives a BMW, she goes like 85 and doesn't really notice. I'm sure if she had something like, say, a 530xi wagon.. she'd love it.

That may be true but the passenger area felt much smaller, I think the X5 is wider. The 5 wagon cost over $100 more per month.

Volvo does offer a good (not great) wagon that costs far less than BMW & MB.

Good Looking car but HORRID interior, just generic GM plasticland, horrible resale value and it's based on the same Platform as the Malibu

We had an X3 3.0i loaner that was white/terracotta with aluminum trim and my mom loved everything about that car. However, she refuses to get one.

Hahahaha no no thats the Jeep Liberty...silly pregnant rollerskates.

I like the new "heart sensor" remote on the volvos now. I am always afraid someone is in the car after I saw the Urban Legands movie 5 years ago. However with that being said, isnt Volvo just devaluing their security system by saying that its easy for someone to break into your car therefor you need this new sensor?
