nice surprise from my cable company
Was hearing rumors they were upgrading in the VA area. Here is the new speed from today. 2005-06-21 07:14:29 EST: 5960 / 1681 Your download speed : 6103091 bps, or 5960 kbps. A 745 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 1721664 bps, or 1681 kbps. Love the new upload speed

I'd second those findings, Mick.
 I was gonna go with DSL, but Verizon STILL hasn't offered it over here in Kingstowne. Went with Cox late last year, been happy ever since!JV

isn't 1681KB = 1.6MB? maybe i'm just reading this post wrong. who knows?

Cable's catchin up to my SBC DSL line. I've had 6 MB down / 1.5 MB up for the past year and a half. ADSL2 or VDSL should have speeds boosted to 25 to 30 MB next year

Once Verizon FIOS gets installed, internet connection speeds won't be an issue any longer.

Actually COX also has the 15 down 2 Meg as well.
