Also, dont get on the subway unless you're really sure what you're doing. I know it like the back of my hand, but not everyone does, and especially not tourists.

Central Park and anything north of that area isn't the best place to be after dark. Probably shouldn't get a hotel there either.
Damn, Matt...they don't need you to sign up for the I Love NY deal.

I worked in, around and all over the City from '75 to 2000. Knock on wood but I have never been accosted,
poked at, or suffered any untoward action in those 25 years. We've been back a half dozen times since 2K.

Same deal, only it's on our tourist nickel now, not my fat Exp Acct.

Your comments are yours, but they read like a Reader's Digest version from the '70s or, the bird I saw is a duck, therefore...

Subway is safe and fast, esp in daytime or early evening. Yeah, there are not going to be 39 buck Motel 6s...
my point is everyone that I know that has ever done The City, has had a remarkable time. It is not Baghdad on
the Hudson anymore, or the den of hell. It's an expensive but electric place to be with more good stuff to see
and and listen to, than one has time in their lives to do.

I'm sure MrStukes and his Daughter will have a remarkable time.
