The DCC: my 13 year old Honda Gold Wing Aspencade has a cruise
control that does that too: it doesn't use brakes, it just rolls off the
cruise controlled throttle a tad to keep it nailed at the set speed. So
does my Vette and Honda Crappy Rittle-Vehicle; I've never had a prob.
with any cruise not "dialing itself down a touch" on steep downgrades...
maybe the geniuses missed that in most cars in the past few years.

The US based Marketeers, the Gizmos for Gizmo's Sakes Guys and,
the rush to keep up with the gimmicks race have obviously overpowered the BMW theme, imo.

haha...funny you brought this up. I almost called BMW Assist because my 325i loaner would NOT start with that push button a few weeks back. Insert key, push start button...all lights lit, but Nothing. Sat in the parking lot of my work place and scratched my head for a few minutes before I realized that I forgot step #1 (step on the brake)...duh! I guessed I must be getting old...can't keep up with all these gadgets or trickeries

I have to agree with everyone here that the start/stop button is totally pointless without the comfort access.

Talk about BMW assist? I just heard on the radio that you can call Onstar, operator answers, give the street name and number and wala they download it to your GM Navigation. Wake up BMW!!!

Thanks. Maybe BMW needs to leave that and go with another component provider. Is there some tie in to Siemens? Why not use the Alpine nav system components like other manufacturers do? Just curious.

I think BMW is slow in implementation. Perspective mode was introduced by Siemens in 2001 and available to us in early 2006.

They also do the head-up display for BMW.

No, actually I had my 530xi for 10 days before sending it back to the dealer. There were 2 scratches on the rear hatch that were noted at the time of purchase which the dealer is taking care of. So meanwhile, I'm driving an 550i. If they take 2 more weeks to fix, I'm not going to be complaining.
