Cell Phone Tower in new office

Greetings all,

So my company is looking at some office space. We found a nice location but one of the potential problems is, it has a built in cell phone tower with a lease for 10 years on the space. The cell phone tower is not on the roof, but built into the side of the building.

So my question is, are these cell phone towers potentially dangerous? Do they give off harmful "energy"? Is there anything to be concerned about?

B

There doesn't seem to be any consensus on this. Some say it is dangerous, and others say no. My personal opinion is that I think it is probably dangerous and those in the corner of saying it isn't dangerous are being funded by the telecommunications companies. Take that for what it's worth....

I am so surprised by your opinion.

Just an informed opinion based on history.

What history has shown us is that when something is suspected of being unhealthy by the experts, it almost always is, and those who fight against that opinion are usually those who are financially hurt by such findings.

This was the case with the cigarettes, asbestos, lead paint, radiation, perchlorate, and probably dozens more I cannot think of at the moment.

In all of those cases, the scientific community was united in saying these things were unhealthy, but industry always produced "experts" with studies that showed these things were not unhealthy. The end result was a media reporting to the public that there was no consensus on the matter. Then years later, we find out that these "experts" were being paid to lie by those in industry that they represented. Big surprise there.

Yes, it's possible that cell phone towers are not unhealthy. But I personally would not be willing to bet on it with my own health. Feel free to do that with your own though.

Eric,

While your opinion is very valid, it is also completely one sided. Lets take for example, the issue of Marijuana. The "experts" have been saying for years that marijuana is unhealthy, yet every doctor I know, wishes it were legal, and that they could prescribe it to patients without the fear of losing their medical license.

So it's a two sided coin. Yes, the gov't does tell people that unhealthy things are healthy and it also tells people that healthy things are unhealthy.

I never said anything about the government. In fact, many times the government is on the right side in these issues. When the FDA (government) was telling people that cigarette smoking was unhealthy, it was the tabacco industry that was fighting it and lying to try to confuse the public. Same with some of the other ones I listed.

My point is that whenever information comes out that something is unhealthy, there is always someone that is going to lie and use propoganda to fight against it for selfish monetary reasons. As there is no way to know who is right until the dust settles, I would wait a few years before I would put my own health at possible risk.

Instead of employee parking, does everyone get unlimited nights and weekends, or what?

I dunno, but I have stopped carrying my cell phone in my pants pockets when I can help it....

I spent most of my awake hours, from the early '80s to 2000, with
a car and/or cell phone glued to my freakin big ears. Maybe that
explains why I am like I am.
