I dont think Tony wants AJ to be a wise guy b/c he knows he's too soft. AJ seemed to enjoy the toe and bike ordeal, but he maybe back to being depressed again.
I really thought a few episodes ago when Tony and Bobby were kinda talking succession planning on the boat (before BB kicked T's ass) that they would start grooming people to move up. I thought Christopher was young enough to be the next boss, but he's gone and cant see AJ or any of the other captain's moving up. With the way Phil got the job and Tony escaping death again, you'd think someone may need to be 2nd in line.
