How big/small is this compared to the two in the front yard of the newly constructed house you showed me in the custom development next to yours?

That guy had 2 of those in front and 3 in back. I asked the nursery, he said they were about 30-40 years old easily, and would cost at least $15k each. They are probably 15-18 feet tall.

Funny - when I lived in Ponte Vedra Beach (just outside of Jacksonville) - guys would drive around in the developments with truckloads of Palms - and sell them for $50-$100 each - PLANTED! That was 10 years ago....

Wow, Palm trees are soooo nice, it's too bad they can't make a hybrid palm tree that would survive the winter up here

Nice specimen, SG.
There are several varieties of "date palm"...you might ask your
arborist what is your species/varietal.

No dis, but that must be Phoenix area pricing...they are considerable
cheaper here in FL, though the "lift" over your backyard wall may
have something to do with that large quote. Here in SW FL, they bring
them on a flatbed looking like telephone poles and about a dozen illegals
winch it off onto a weird wheeled trolley deal and roll it into place.

The "standing" looks like the fitting of the mast, Moby Dick style.

Good luck on your palm!

SG, I guess that's one way to ensure you have a date on a regular basis.

Greg,

I got my 15' king palm from a wholesaler in San Diego. Can't remember the name but it was $1200 and I thought that was kinda expensive. The date palms were slightly more expensive. $3000 is way too much. It's also not that heavy. We rolled/carried it into the backyard with 6 guys .. you don't need no stinkin crane.
