A couple of weeks ago during the NY Auto show a few reviews came out about the new S5 that were pretty underwhelming. So I'm going to keep my Z06 for at least 1 more summer and see what happens next year.

WOW is right, G!

Whew...I'm still hanging on the my '02 C5, with 28K miles and badly in
need of new tires. I drove a few C6s at the Chebby Stlr in Naples, before
we came north. Remarkable performance, but pricey when I figure in the
giving away of my C5 Vert. I'm gonna hang on to mine, as you are for
at least another summer and maybe, longer.

No buy US nut, but the engineers at the ol'General can still do som
marvelous things with a "old school" V8!

I agree, there's nothing wrong with my 405HP Z16, but damn, now the base C6 is more advanced and probably will obsolete my car, even though there are only about 1800 of them left in the world Resale just took a big hit.

Did they fix the sub-par interior?

Not to arm wrestle, True...it's the continual complaint by
those that don't really, really "like" or, "get" the Vette, imo.

My '02 C5 does have a Chevy Lumina interior, but I knew that
going in: the dough is spent on a monster small block V8, very
good 6 speed manual trans, exc. suspension, etc. And, for $48Gs
out the freakin door in '02, it was for me, a helluva deal and the
comprimise was acceptable.

The C6, if you haven't spent some time in one, is slightly better,
but not really BMW/PCar et al level by any stretch. (The C6 steering
wheel maybe uglier and cheaper looking than the Aveo I rented at West
Fest, lol!)

My point is, without trying to sound like I'm pumping Vettes, is the
interior is what it is; if one wants Teutonic spartan/lil' higher quality,
then BMW or PCar...if one wants gizmos and layers of leather and
wood, then one of the Japanese "sports" cars maybe the ticket.

No homer: the Vette is what it is and few of us that own one care
about the middling interior. My CD player works, the HVAC is GM
excellent, all the gauges and scrollable data work, my HUD is top
of the freakin line, it goes like my M'cycles, handles like a slot car,
gets 32 mpg on trips and has been nearly glitch free in 5 yrs and
28K miles of rode hard and put away wet. But, diff'n strokes.
