You probably have one of the most unique set-ups in SoCal w/that shortbed! Parking my longbed is an ordeal sometimes, but I need the extra bed length for hauling gear. I put in a pioneer AvicD2 nav w/back up camera, pioneer 6cd changer, better speakers and a powered sub. What a difference. The back up camera is very cool. It makes for an easy hook up of my trailer too. Don't mess w/the intake or use a programmer though. I've heard many horror stories about blown engines and torn up turbos that were denied warranty coverage because of aftermarket parts. One thing you might want to add are the tire valve extensions for the rear dually wheels. I'm talking about the stainless steel braided hoses that extend out to the hub. Try adding air to the rears w/o them and you'll understand.

why is 0-60 a consideration for a pickup?

Have you ever tried merging onto the highway with an 8,000lb trailer with a V6? That's why you need a powerful v8. Also climbing mountains, etc.

I'm not questioning the engine size, i'm asking why anyone would consider 0-60 as a decision point. Torgue should be the consideration, not top speed.

Sweet truck! Very nice, esp. the SB dually aspect. They're rare. I think that is the first one I've seen. Gorgeous!

On a related note, last week I swapped my '03 King Ranch F250SD PowerStroke Diesel for a 2006 Harley truck (F250SD PSD crewcab). You'd think the two trucks would be very similar, but the coil spring suspension on the newer truck really makes a difference in handling/ride/road feel. It feels like it drives two feet shorter than the 2003 (leaf spring front end). I've never been much of a Harley dude, but I really REALLY like this truck! I've not yet done the "concrete driveway detail" on it yet, so I don't have any pictures of any account, but until then, I'll post a nice "representative" photo below. The darn thing has loads of "presence," I'll say that for it. It's hard to miss.

Here are a few thoughts regarding the 6.4L vs. 6.0L comparison. My neighbor has an F350 SuperCab 6.4L. He knows trucks and he owns a major truck service facility in our area. His thought is that the 6.4L has better lower end power, but the 6.0 has more grunt at highway speed. Your 6.4L is MUCH quieter than my 6.0L, of that there is no question. I've noticed both of my 6.0L trucks seem to shift much more firmly than the 6.4L, which feels like it has some ignition retard at the shift points (like most big engine vehicles have these days) to spare the tranny from some of the big-power torque that these powerful V8s make. They both tow like a dream.

We are constantly hauling.

Home Depot runs for office, Costco for craft services, equipment, camera gear, lights, generators, actor trailers, etc.
We needed a Super Duty for some of the bigger weight items we need to move. Will probably also use it to haul vehicles, to and from..

Dually is more stable and can tow more..

A long bed would have been too hard to navigate through the hills.

It's like the 60's and 70's all over again. The "big 3" are competing in horsepower wars, not just on their cars but their trucks aswell. Toyota has 0 power in their car fleet compared to the "big 3" but this Tundra is now the 2nd fastest truck! Dodge Viper Truck being the 1st of course. It seems like a lot of kids atleast where I live drive trucks now. No longer do they drive civics,acuras etc. They are driving their Dad's Hemi Rams.
