most of my friends with kids drive the Odyssey or the Expedition - with young kids the Odyssey wins hands down for the ease of access & room (as well as safety & reliability, hands down favorite)(no, experience with the Sienna and in interest of full disclosure, I own Honda stock ) - everyone I know with a Pilot rave about it, but can't figure out why it does not get better mileage - the Expedition/Tahoe works well with older kids

You name it. With the 4Runner, all i did was oil changes.
not to mention, if ur into modding, TRD offers quite a few products at a
fraction of the cost of performance parts for the X.

I think that you're wasting your time looking into this now for a decision 2 years from now. Who knows what else will be available, what gas prices will be, etc etc.

In two years, if gas is 5+ bucks a gallon, the search will be for
something very different, imo.

if toyota is still doing what they were doing when i bought my 2001, get the SR-5.
u'll be able to choose more of what u want and don't want options wise. the limited
ed. really limits ur choices of mixing and matching options.

Honda Pilot and Toyota Sienna are good choices. Pilot will get 2nd gen look in under 2 years. My neighbor has new Pathfinder and always complains. If you have extended warranty and maintenence on X5 then you should be fine till 100k. It still looks better than others.
