Last friday afternoon, at about 4.20 pm, I was on plane in the runway at Ottawa airport, ready to take off to Newark. suddenly the Captain announces we're to stand-by in the runway for at least the next hour; since all incoming flights into all 3 NYC area airports were ordered not to take off. Excessive Traffic was the alledged reason... Anyhow the ban was lifted an hour later and we took off. I never really bought the "traffic" justification. This scare must have been the reason...
