Bought my first X5 in 2003, 4.4. Went strait to RF and lurked, posted a few questions. Hated the layout. Sold the X in 2005 and bought a new one in 2006 and came here in June, I think.

I started posting on RF in the spring of 2002 and moved over to BF when PNG, MD and I (along with some others) got booted from RF. After a short and mostly sweet stay at BF, the concept of converting my original X5world FAQ page into a full-blown forum was hatched by Drex and me and the rest, as they say, is history.
As for the genesis of X5world, it started out as a simple way to organize the many book marks I had collected referencing popular posts and other information on the X5 into one spot for everyone to benefit from. The original post of the concept was on 09/30/03 - http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums...3966005-1.html That same day I registered the X5world.net domain - http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums...3968467-1.html and http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums...3970141-1.html. About a year later I obtained the xoutpost.com domain when Jude let it expire. Obtaining the X3world domains was a bit more problematic, as they were owned by a porn site. After some haggling, I bought the domain names for a resonsable price. It took quite some time for the Google references associated with the porn content to finally go away Never in a million years did I have any notion that it would evolve into the outstanding community we collectively have built here.
