That's cuz Nissans don't have good automatics to begin with. Nissan makes *okay* CVTs........I remember my mom tried the Versa (it's rubbish) and the CVT wasn't terrible. Yea I know CVTs can be configured to have a set ratio for manual mode, but honestly I can't stand the feel/sound of variable ratios.

Lexus is just playin the numbers game with their 8AT. I hear it hesistates because the computer has too many gears to choose from. I don't blame it though; if I could choose between so many ratios, it'd take me awhile to figure out the right one too!

Well somebody is smokin'....it was definitely a 7 speed. I checked and double checked because I couldn't believe my eyes. At any rate, it could've been a 10 speed and it still drove like sh**.................Phil

Actually 4.6is Ryder is right. The CVT transmission in the B7 '07 A4's have 7 preset gear ratios. The earlier CVT's were pseudo 6-speeds. The A5's will have a pseudo 8-speed CVT transmission.

That's a leap. A couple bad experiences doesn't qual IMO as all Audi's sucking. If that was all the justification needed, BMW's would plummet.

Would never buy an audi , saw a Q7(brief second) on the way to the shreveport casinos yesterday - looked better suited to the surface of the moon than an open stretch of hwy. Funny thing is i thought that audi did so well at lemans was supposed to prove their line up of whatever their line up is
