Might be...If they total it I can't wait for the X6 release which puts me back to the E70 or the 6 . I'm thinking a 2 year lease will be ridiculous on the E70 though. I don't know if I want to get locked into something for 3 years. 2 years on a 6 may be the way to go, get that out of my system and then do the X6.

Usually, to total out a car, the cost of repairing the damage has to be equal or greater than the remaining value of the car. Considering that the car is a lease, the insurance company will probably deal with BMWNA in making the deicsion. From the looks of the damage, you're looking at a significant amount of cost... 2 door skins, front and back quarters (and the back quarter panel is very costly to replace), front left headlight assembly, drivers side mirror assembly, front and rear bumpers, rear suspension (who knows what's broken in there), and both rims. that's not even counting the labor costs.

Consider this, when the headlights were stolen out of my '04, it was $5500. you've got significantly more damage.

Is the hood also bent? Difficult to tell from pics.

Glad to see you were not hurt. As you have figured out, the car damage is just "stuff". Stuff can be fixed or replaced. You are much more important.
