C6Z is $80k, S5 is $58k

335 is too small for me, and I don't like the look of the 335 vert.

the S5 does 0-60 in 4.8
the 335 does 0-60 in 5.3

i'm ok with the drop in HP from my Z. Can always get another one

they about the same size.. trust me.. tuned 335i on my gtech was 0-60 4.1 sec on that was really really traction limited. btw.. I've been seeing used C6Z in the mid to high 60 range out here...

Wow Gresch,

That's a tough call. I think you will find the S5 tame, refined, quiet, soft and plush as compared to the Vette. But I also think you will greatly appreciate the quality improvements.

I do agree, that you will most probably miss the HP, but I'm not sure how you drive the Z to begin with. Are you a lead foot? Do you track the car?

Either way, it seems as though you have put some thought in it. If there is any advice I can help give, please don't hesitate to ask.

I track the vette every now and then, nothing to crazy though. I'm an occasional lead foot . But the vette isn't my DD, it's more of a weekend car. I've had a lot of cars in my day, and I guess I've satisfied my "need to have a vette before I die" requirement lol! As I said above, the vette sits for 5 months every year, and it's not really a car that I can take everywhere, so its use is somewhat limited. Don't get me wrong, I still really like the Z, and there's nothing wrong with it, I'm just looking for a different kind of ride that I can use more, take more places, etc.

Gresch,

You got your head on straight... To me, 1/2 the fun of owning cars, is changing them up from time to time. And there's only so much room in the garage.
I think change is good, and I'm happy to encourage you to move into a vehicle that has more versatility.
(please don't hate me), but I've never been much of a vette guy.. (sorry MD) - (what a surprise, a Porsche fanatic that doesn't like vette's...lol)

But I can't deny, not even for a second, the amazing performance package that a vette delivers at an extrodinary price.

Just one question,
When you sell a vette, do you have to sell the moustache too? hehe..
