If Pakistan actually had balls (the people of Pakistan that is), they would overthrow Musharraf alltogether and elect someone to office that actually represents their views. And just so you know, upwards of 80% of the population of Pakistan are strong Al-Queda and Taliban supporters. Musharraf, on the other hand, has approval ratings which make Dubya look popular.

Musharraf is trying to walk a fine line here between appeasing the West and appeasing his own people and avoid having his head on a pike. He is not being "ball-less". He is being smart.

As the leader of a country, is it not your first responsibility to represent the desires and interests of the people of your own country? If he were to have balls and do exactly that, I'm not sure you would be very pleased with him.

He is a PUSS Eric, joins up to take out Al-Qeez, then harbors them in the hills the whole time he says "ohh I'm trying sooo hard" then "ahh, never mind" You're assuming that is the will of the people, to be taken over by Taliban...good call.

The majority of the population of Pakistan are Taliban supporters. If you remember, back in 2001 when we invaded Afghanistan, tens of thousands of Pakistanis flocked across the border to fight for the Taliban the way thousands of Americans went to Spain in 1938 to fight against Fascism.

As for Al-Queda, there support is a bit lower, but still very strong in the Northwest regions. I also read a very interesting poll recently.... While the majority of Pakistanis support Al-Queda and view Osama bin Laden favorably, 80% are against attacks on civilians. So you may say "how is this possible?". Answer: the same poll shows that only 3% of Pakistanis think Al-Queda was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. In most of the western world, that number is over 50%, and in the US it is over 70%.

Sorry I don't rely on 'web stats' for this. If that was the will of the people, to accept the Taliban, that would have LONG since happened.

How is this possible?

Big bad America with it' biggest, strongest, best armed, bravest, most intelligent, bad ass army need's help from Pakistan and Canada for that matter to take out a bunch of stone chucking peasants in Afghanistan. Maybe the CIA should spend some time in training their dogs not to bite their masters. You people started these war's now go and deal with it instead of blaming other's for your underachievement's. You people are a joke.

Could be. I would guess he is in that area in Northwest Pakistan where they say he is. In that region, Osama is like a hero....he is very popular there. It wouldn't matter what the reward was, nobody would turn him in.

If Musharraf was to send in the Pak army to try to capture him, half of the soldiers would refuse, and he would have a civil war and lots of bloodshed on his hands.... Not to mention that he would very likely be overthrown after pulling a stunt like that.
