This is my cat, Whiskers...who in Bulgarian I call "Whisyo". She's a BEAST - domestic black short-haired. She weighs 16lb and she is 7 years old. Whisyo likes to graze the grass in the patio.

Bully's are really a special breed (if I do say so myself ), but they do tend to pass early. My male is 8 now and healthy - let's hope he stays that way...

SG,

The PWD (Portuguese Waterdog) used to be very very rare. Now they are more common place. At one point there was believed to be only 50 left in the entire world (in the 1970's) and the breed was rescued from near extinction.

They are an amazing amazing breed. A working class dog.
Used to belong to the peasent fisherman who lived on the coast of portugal. The dogs would go out on the fishing Kayak's with the fisherman and assist in all sorts of chores. They would heard fish into the nets, retrieve fish in their mouth if they got free, carry messages from land to boat and vice versa. They have been known to rescue drowning people by swimming them to shore.
They were also used during the spanish armada to carry messages between ships. They can swim 5 miles in a warm sea (the have webbed feet like a duck.)
They are extraordinarily smart, loyal.. One of those pets that's more like a human than a dog if you know what I mean.
They have two different types of coats, Curly and Wavy.

Nikita is a Wavy..

If your ever in the market for a fantastic dog breed, I can't say enough about the Portuguese Waterdog. And the best part is, You'll be the only one on the block with one. They really are a unique dog.

Oh, I forgot to add. They have HAIR not FUR, so they do not shed and are HYPOALLERGENIC. They LOVE LOVE LOVE to swim.
Usually range from 35-70lbs. (meduim sized breed)

some people cut them like standard poodles (yuch!) with a stupid lion cut or something but I would never...

<---can you tell I love my pup... lol..

B
