Traffic/Driving Poll

Have you ever purposely not let someone merge in front of you solely based on the vehicle they are driving?

I have however sprayed washer fluid on crotch-rocket drivers that role up the center line and then sit on my bumper.....they hate that.

I am courteous to those that deserve courtesy. If I see a blinker I will normally let them in. The exception being the person with no one ahead of them, not going the limit and trying to get in the left lane ahead of me to hold me up. I will NOT allow anyone in who is driving like an a-hole, riding the exit only lane until the last minute and then trying to take me from the shoulder or cutting the line on a busy exit ramp regardless of what they drive.

I have been known to let someone in who is trying to jap me out and as I do, beep the horn and alert the cop who is looking for exactly this type of behavior. That guy was pissed. I blew him a kiss.

I will let someone merge if they have a nice car, especially a BMW, call me biased

Yes - rule of thumb- "never get in the way of a car that needs extensive body work"

Dump trucks or pick-ups that are tossing debris aren't allowed. Folks with cargo that seems improperly loaded and/or secured (in my sole opinion) don't make it either. This may seem selfish, but I don't think I should have to be the target of rocks, tree limbs, rocking chairs, etc. because someone doesn't have the courtesy or intelligence to secure their load.

hi CMY -

What about the opposite lane where they ride it and just jump in to exit/merge when the *exit/merge* lane turned solid solid and was backed up for 40 feet already ;-)

I just saw one the dumber accidents the other day. This spot tends to be exactly as described so everyone on the merge/exit lane is always huggging bumpers as a-holes try to jump in from the left anytime they want - right before the exit itself. A driver must have hard braked even for no need and about 3-5 cars behind it got a slight fender bender.

I was about 3 cars upfront and heard a loud screech/bang....
Makes you pay attention to distances more often in the front and back, even in stop-n-go traffic.
