FEMA apologizes for news conference on fires

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government's main disaster-response agency apologized on Friday for having its employees pose as reporters in a hastily called news conference on California's wildfires that no news organizations attended.

That's the way to get good PR. Pretend to have a real news conference, have your own employees pose as reporters and ask scripted questions. Kind of like when they did those fake Medicaid news clips a couple of years ago.

The whole lot of them ought to be fired. I mean everyone who took part.

Gee...a government agency that's jacked up. Sure makes me want the Fed running my healthcare!

(Actually they already do in my case... )

The funny thing is that the Bush Administration says they are "outraged". Even if they had nothing to do with it (which I truely doubt), its not as if they haven't done similar things in the past. The Medicaid thing is just one example that comes to mind.

The implication you make is that President Bush directed them to it.

The "Administration" is pretty large. There are numerous layers, and I'm here to tell you the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

So yeah, the "Administration" did have something to do with it - some political appointee. "Bush's fault," indeed...

It is my opinion that President Bush has never directed anybody in government to do anything. His job is to read the speeches they give him, and hope that he doesn't mess up and jumble the words. I doubt he has the brain power to do anything more than that.

Sorry for the confusion.... When I say the "Bush Administration", I mean the decision makers in the White House, not Bush himself.

And yes, this sort of thing has almost become policy for them. Quoted from the article I posted above:

The Bush administration has faced criticism previously over accusations it masked public relations efforts as journalism.

The White House has done this sort of thing over and over. No other Presidential Administration in my lifetime has ever even been accused of doing anything similar. So whether or not FEMA decided to follow the leads of their superiors, or if they were actually ordered to do so, there's not much of a difference.

I won't even address this bit of immature insanity.

And no administration had ever broken into their opposition's office prior to Watergate.

And no administration had ever been accused (and lied under oath) of getting a BJ in the Oval Office prior to President Clinton.

And no administration...

Care to have me continue?
