Really? Who?
Guiliani and his militant style? What people forget is that before 9/11 he was hated, villified... If he did not like art that was too riske, he'd shut it down. Yes, he handled 9/11 with class, care, and compassion, but he was a VERY unpopular mayor before then. Remember his run for the Senate -- against Hllary -- by the way? He realized he was going to be trounced, so he pulled out of the race half-way through the campaign. (And, by the way, his girlfriend was living with him in the Mayor's mansion... while he was still married!) Obama? Yeah, he's got charisma, but does he have experience? He's been in politics for... what, four years? Romney? Go ahead! He's a Democrat (and very John Kerry-like) in Republican clothing. Remember when CA thought they were electing a Republican with the Governator? (By the way, I'm a Democrat, so I don't care. I actually kinda like the guy. Just pointing out that maybe Romney is not as "Red" as he appears.) Let's think about this: I'll give you that "W" is a horrible prez (one word for you - Iraq; nay, two words for you - Irag and Katrina). He will probably go down in history as one of our worst presidents ever. But his father, despite the fact that he was a little out of touch, is a decent guy, and was a decent president. NO ONE is questioning his decision not to go into Baghdad anymore. Bill could not keep it in his pants, but the man is brilliant (the most educated president we've ever had), and he genuinely cared about people. He balanced the budget, and took care of the econmy. He also trimmed he government, and increased military spending. (Fiscally, militarily, and gubernatorially, he's the best Republican president we've had in a couple decades.) He is an incredibly capable politician who brought parties to the table to reach consensus, is admired throughout the world, and is now an respected elder stateman. You take Monica away, and Bill would have gone down in history as one of the most brilliant people to live in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. On a side note: I'm not condoning his extra-marital affairs, but his situation is not uncommon; he just got caught. FDR -- long considered one of our best presidents EVER -- had a mistress for YEARS. She even lived in the White House with him. (She was his "assistant.") It's OK, though, his lesbian wife had a lover also. Our history is littered with presidents who were unfaithful. Again, not saying it's ok; simply that Bill is not the only one. Now, to Hillary: She's educated, intelligent, strong, and experienced. No, she's not the most genuine person in the world. I'll give you that. And that does concern me -- and many other Americans. But again, I ask you: Who? Who can do better? It's easy for us to say, "We can do better." But running for (and being) President is a cruel, unfair, exhauting, and impossible task. Dont' agree? Ask Howard Dean, and how one dumbass "arrgghh!" made him the fodder of all jokes, and probably cost him the nomination four years ago. The reason we don't "do better" is because you have to be willing to be put through the ringer. The kitchen is indeed too hot for most people. Juan Quote:

I Agree with you 75%, I do however think Romney is a joke in every possible way, I feel hes two-faced (Oh wait that is fine in politics) but mostly his feelings on certain issues don't align with mine I fully agree that CLinton's affair shouldn't be this huge pink elephant in the room of his career like people make it out to be, he was and always will be a brilliant man who did many great things for this county At This Election, Can we do better? Of coarse but the "better" people don't want to deal with the BS of politics and decided not to run, that's our political system these days folks

Keep in mind that there are billions of dollars spent each year on PR by the big lobbies and special interests with the sole goal of shaping your opinions. And while I'm sure all of you think you are not affected one bit by it and are still able to make independent decisions, it's not true. We are all affected by it. They don't spend those billions of dollars for nothing, and they are not stupid. They spend the money because they know it is effective, just as they know it is effective to give large campaign donations to the major candidates. It puts presure on those candidates to support their interests, and it IS effective. But just perhaps, the "big" issues that the media is talking about at the moment are not really big issues at all, but are what the special interests want you to think are the big issues of our time. Meanwhile, the really important stuff that WILL affect your life in a big way gets swept under the rug. Keep that in mind next time you choose the candidate you are going to vote for.

sorry juan, but you're waaaaaay off base. A VAST majority of NY'ers, and by NY'ers I mean people that actually live in NYC or one of the boroughs liked Rudy. For cryin' out loud the guy threw the mob out of the fulton fish market and they only burned down 1 building! Before Rudy, you couldn't go west of 7th ave in midtown without the fear of being mugged, robbed, beaten, accosted by hookers, druggies, drug dealers, you name it... during his term in office and post-term Rudy, now you can go from river to river and be safe. Oh, and he passed laws outlawing ANY strip clubs and sex shops anywhere near a school. he also cleaned up 42nd street and got rid of a majority of the sex shops. The art thing? are you serious? A city owned gallery in brooklyn was displaying a depiction of the Virgin Mary made with cow shit and he shut it down, and rightly so! If that were a Jewish display the entire city would have been in an uproar and hassidim would have marched through every borough arm in arm for weeks. The newest group to bash is Catholics and Rudy stood up for his beliefs. yeah, wouldn't want that in a leader, someone who has conviction.. nahhh... Dropped out of the race with Hillary because he thought he was goign to be beaten? Check your facts, he had prostate cancer... Sorry Juan, I know that we disagree on some things, but with all due respect, you're WAY off base here. NYC is a much safer, cleaner and nice place to live because of Giuliani. Dinkins was by far the worst NYC mayor in the last 30 years and it took 2-3 years of clean up by Rudy to get the stink off the city after dinkins left.

Hillary has absolutely NO experience. None. Not even running a lemonade stand, and people want to put her in charge of USA Inc? the biggest corporation on earth? absolutely NOT. Name 2 significant things that she's done for the state of NY since she's been in office. She's been a ghost. I wish Obama would have waited 8 more years and gotten some more experience, he's just too inexperienced right now.
