Exactly, that is why they need to stop the nonsense of making current models 'hybrid' and start building models that were designed that way from the ground up.

The mountains of torque on that beast must make up for it

Seems like the 3.0 diesel X5's are only getting high 20's mpg in everyday driving (and that's with the 20% bigger imperial gallon) - don't know about highway
