They can't say they are OEM, but they can say they are replicas. Doesn't the same apply to watches?

Forgive my ignorance on the subject of replica watches, but are they actually putting a rolex brand logo on these replicas, or are they simply copying the style?

As for copyrights, I think patents would more apply to watches, and I'm not very educated about patent law. Obviously it must be legal to a certain point to produce a "replica" or else those rim companies would not be doing it. Doesn't the same apply to watches?

As for music, you can produce a "soundalike" to another piece of music. For example, here's a cool album that my company released a couple of years ago. See if you can identify the originals (the answers are inside the link for each title):

And here's another example:

The ones you buy on a street corner in NY or on eBay don't generally say "hey these are fake" they tend to say "I can't find the paperwork".

And yes, they put real logos on the item.

Well, then it is illegal. I had thought it was more like George said above -- that they use a similar brand name like "Solex" instead of Rolex.

I don't see any problem at all with that, it is still a SUV right?

Until it breaks down in 2 days after buying it. Quality is the major issue on these things. A golfing buddy of mine went to China and was so curious about fake Callaway clubs that he bought a set for himself. The club never sounded and performed like the real thing and after a month the clubface on his driver cracked and the clubhead on his 7 iron flew off while in the driving range. For $1000 you can look around for a genuine classic old model Rolex precision or Air King, an older Omega or even a mid-priced Tag Heuer IMHO

I bet they don't copy this watch:

Don't think you should show up at a interview with it either
