Who mentioned automatic weapons? I see several SEMI-automatic weapons, but apparently missed the reference to automatics. Unless you don't know the difference.
So, are you also going to tell the car enthusiasts that they should not own big V8 cars any more? They really only need a small 4 cylinder car, preferably a hybrid. Some folks like to own Porsches and race them. Some like 4 wheel drive trucks out in the mud. I thought we believed in freedom, including the freedom to have hobbies and interests that others don't share. I own weapons for a variety of reasons, one of which is to protect myself and my family from those who would do us harm. I have seen the brains splattered on the wall many times, and if the choice is my family's well-being or a thug's, I won't hesitate to splatter his.It is up to the rest of us to have the arsenals, to make up for you slackers who refuse to do your part.

I would say that it takes more skill to shoot some of these guns over a plinker.

Again, I see no auto's. If I could afford them though, you BET I would own them! What justification do I need? Do you need justification to have a car that can go faster than the speed limit? Take turns faster than what is safe?


We are apparently trained killers I guess??? But hell, I don't swat the flies that bother me.



ALso, owning multiple cars that can easily kill people are just as stupid.

Think of it this way; some people have stamp collections, some collect cars (some even collect RACE CARS!!!! the humanity) , HELL, some people even collect (gasp) SHARKS!!! POISOINOUS SPIDERS AND SNAKES!!!! scary looking porcelain dolls, and some of us choose to collect guns.


You would be surprised at the people who COLLECT guns, and shoot guns regularly because it is in fact, FUN. Not only that, but look at your own country. They took all of the LEGAL guns away, and now all of the "bad guys" have them, and violent crime is getting worse every year.


LOTS of people would argue that it's pretty pathetic that you not only need two cars, but you need to overpay for two BMW's, and get the bigger engine to boot! So you stick with your doll collecting and BMW's, and we'll stick to guns and BMW's .


Even though I suck at it, I consider photography another hobby of mine. See, I don't just shoot the guns, I shoot the camera too

we have a couple guns, however I'm not 21 yet so I can't buy ammo for handguns in the state of Florida and there are no handguns allowed in DC, so it is very prohibitive to going to the range (which I enjoy greatly). However, this being said I've already taken the concealed weapons classes and passed the test so the day I turn 21 I only have to get fingerprinted for the license.

That SIG collection is QUITE the collection!!!!! Very impressive, almost to the point of being unreal! I'm jealous, and they're just handguns.

And I just picked this up from my grandfather on the way home from the range, 1944 us army 1911...


As to waiting periods, a couple of the guns that I bought were spur of the moment purchases (and I'm glad that I purchased them). I shouldn't have to wait 10 days to buy something. The full background check (I am FOR THIS) takes literally 15 seconds to run a name through the computer, and the paperwork takes another couple of minutes. That's more time than I want to spend in a store where I tend to buy things just being in the general vicinity!

Nice 1911! I have a very old Pre-WWII Luger but no 1911 from that time.

Nice 1911 svh! That one is a true collector's piece. It even has "U.S. Army" stamped on it. It looks to be in remarkable condition for a 64 year old pistol. Keep that thing locked up tight!

SVH no I have'nt checked that site out but I will now. You have some heavy duty stuff, how many rounds do you have through the H&K...I have about 15,000 through my P2000 and its still going strong. Do you belong to any ranges in the area?

I only have about 1000 rounds through it, don't really shoot it much. I have just over 15,000 rounds through the G26 (my carry gun) though (probably because 9mm is 1/3 the price of 45!)

The big hole is 29 rounds of controlled RAPID FIRE at 20 yards, while the 3 strays were the last 3 of the mag, aiming for the middle of the head for the initial shot, followed by however quickly I could possible pull the trigger for the following two not really aiming at all (kind of like a "tripple tap" )
