imo, both situations suck, because either way we wind up with an inexperienced president.

One of these days an educated businessman will run for President and put these damn politicians out of a job. We need a CEO type to run USA Inc, not politicians (regardless of political party)
What do you think would have happened had Bloomberg thrown his hat in the ring?

I think that the world would have imploded in racial disharmony, a jew, a woman and a black man all running for President. Joe Redneck's head would explode.

I'ld like to see Jack Welch running, if he can run GE he can run the world.

Mitt Romney

Steve Forbes

Both ran, got nowhere....

Problem would always be, as it will be if Obama gets elected, Congress will NEVER fall in line with any of the beliefs or goals they attempt to achieve. For the life of me I don't know why Republicans were not voting for Romney in the primaries.....

Both my wife and I voted for Romney. But you're right...With the House and Senate nothing can get through except business as usual.

With one exception. Liberal House, Liberal Senate and a Liberal President.

People should vote McCain for the stalemate alone.

Thanks for the question.

My point was and still is that we have had people with loads of experience in positions of responsibility weather it's politicians CEO's or whatever and just like anyone else they make a mess of it.

I wasn't talking about politicians in particular but In fact politicians are in the forefront of screwing up, making bad decisions to the extent that it's pathetic.

Will someone with less experience be any better? I haven't got a clue. But the record of men in rulership proves that the results for the most part have not been beneficial for mankind. But then how could it be when the scope of the vision of men in general has been narrow at best and based on selfish motivation. My vision regarding rulership goes far beyond rulership by politicians and Businessmen. But that's a discussion for another time.

He is a junior senator

Pretty obvious, last I checked he was never a governor....

He is/was very active in Chicago as a community activist, fundraiser, etc. I know, I was at all his fundraisers and events about five or so years ago when I first met him. He also did a lot as a state senator, and actually knows the right kind of people he should surround himself with if he does become president.

you're not telling me anything that makes him sound more experienced. "he did a lot as state senator" is too vague.

Add to this the ammunition and admission that he refuses to wear an American flag lapel pin because of the war in Iraq.

Now to be fair...Bush seems a little confused about the tradition but at least he was trying.

I think the proper decorum is to place your had over your heart during the Pledge, because it is just that... a Pledge of Honor. Show me a clip where Barack does not follow this decorum during the pledge, and I might think differently. As far as the Anthem, either stand in reverence (as Barack was doing in the photo and clip) or sing along. I thought that this was taught in elementary school?
