I have disputed charges when the merchant wasn't being straight with me but it seems to me that your beef is with Hotels.com. Yeah, I went with Hotels.com and they did reverse 50.00 of it, but there was nothing else they could/would do. They did call Hyatt and discussed the issues with them. I don't know what to do beyond that point. So I then was advised to contact Hyatt directly, which I did, but they acted condescending to me and refused to act like I was at all anything but wrong. So I asked my credit card company to help, and they have

Sad to say but hyatt really took a turn to the worse the last few years. I used to always stay at hyatts wherever I travel to, but ultimately decided to never stay at one again.

Well I won! They decided a free night was in order due to my extreme dissatisfaction, so I've withdrawn the credit card dispute

When you spoke with Hyatt, did you speak with the Corporate offices, or the Hyatt you stayed at?

We own a few Hotel franchises (mostly lower brand, such as Days Inn and Best Western) and if you ever have any problems speak with the front desk clerk first, then if the issue isn't resolved then go directly to the Corporate offices. We recieve the complaints either the same day, or the following business day. They then usually give us a week to resolve the problem, and if we do not, then the corporate offices will fine us daily until the issue is resolved.

I'm glad everything worked out for you, but next time try not to go straight to the CC company. Nine out of ten times, the hotel will provide proof that you did indeed stay here, and in the end it hurts you both (their reputation and your credit rating).

I did speak with front desk, then I just called Hyatt Customer Relations, and it worked out perfect. Thank you for the input and the dispute was more of a "i'm going to win" and I was very relieved that they did in fact decide my complaint meant something, because that was what I needed all along.
