Well, I am not a pen enthusiast... only a Mont-blanc enthusiast. I own four of them -- all fountain pens, by the way.

Nice to see that some people still write with fountain pens. It's like a lost art.

I currently own one Mont blanc and one Aurora. Looking to add a few more soon.

Yeah, I get compliments on my pens just about EVERY day. I write for a living, so it actually plays into my "persona," BUT that is not the reason started using fountain pens. Back in the very early 90s I did an apprenticeship with Daimler Benz -- IN Germany. There, students were allowed to use either pencil or fountain pen; they believe fountain pens promote good penmanship. (It did not help me, by the way. ) Anyway, I have been using fountain pens ever since, and Mont Blancs exclusively for the last four or five years.

Like watches, I love pens too but just can't afford to collect them. I use the same Mont Blanc ballpoint that I have been using daily for the last 12 years. It is holding up very well. I have a couple of Watermans but they don't feel as nice. I also have a cool looking Porsche Design TecFlex rollerball made by Faber-Castell. The only problem with it is that it weighs a ton.

Let's see, got the Lexapro pens, Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, Lovenox, Cymbalta, Relpax, etc. and many more pens....seem to collect quite a few several times a week!!

Those darn Actos reps are so cheap, they never provide pens or lunches....

I told myself that when I was licensed as a CPA, I would get a pen to act as my signature pen on returns....

This was the pen I decided on... The Porsche Design.

I love it, great weight and feel....

(I also like those new MB's with the clear top)

In general, Mont Blancs hold up very well.

What's more interesting here, though, is the pattern. I find this fascinating. There is NO science behind this, but take a quick look at the X5 World Membership:

1. Obviously, everyone here is (at least) a BMW owner - most are X5 owners.
2. A great majority of the membership owns a second "luxury" or "performance" car (M3/M5, X3, PCar, Vette).
3. Mostly well-educated, well-trained, white-collar, upper-middle to upper class folks - the majority of whom, with the exception of Juan, are Republicans.
4. They appreciate the "finer things" in life: cars, watches, pens, HD TVs, traveling, boats...

I guess it's a big "Duh!" that people with similar interests would migrate to one area... But, not so much when the one thing we do NOT have in common is backgrouds... like I said, fascinating stuff.

Juan
