OK, I think that this should be my last post in this thread. I am not a fan boy of any operating system.

I did NOT say that I preferred PC's! I just said that I am comfortable with Windows Vista and see no reason to change... It has been good to me with all my multiple hardware upgrades. And I do like changing things...

I have zero desire to get into a PC vs. Mac debate on X5world. Even PC Magazine says the best O/S is Leopard! And that's probably the tech publication that I trust the most.

I was respond to this:

If this advice is the only criteria to make a decision i would avoid the advice. Why because unless I am mistaken, XP is still the standard in the PC world. No one HAS to use Vista.

Anyway its good that we both agree, lets keep thinking positively.

One thing I saw the other day from Apple had me laughing was an advertisement for Leopard. Is said something like Apple is designed for security, 144,000 virus's none of which effect Apple computers.

Please...Most virus's are written for PC's because of the sheer volume of them and the need for hackers to wreck havoc on the maximum number of systems. It has very little to do with security measures put in place by Apple.

Just a little misleading.

It seems like the recent success of Apple is making it a little rotten:
updates that include safari , Iphone updates that once again lock hacked unlock phones, the inability to of time machine to work with network hard drives (expect the new Apple drive) and the whole concept of giving AT&T the exclusive rights to the I Phone.

Looks like I am late to the party but I like Dell PCs over Mac, I just bought a Dell Vostro 400 for my 7 year old daughter and had it upgraded with all kinds of cool stuff and paid under $1,050.00...I strongly considered a Mac because that's what she uses in school but all of my friends that have powerbooks or Macs have had problems at one time or another. I on the other hand, have owned Dells for over 8 years and have not had one problem (knock on wood) not to mention that by comparison the same loaded Mac would have been at least another $1,000.00. Unless I am missing something I don't think there are any real differences between Mac and PC now adays for word processing and other business applications. Price and quality played a big factor in my decision and that's why I chose Dell...Good luck with your choice.

P.S. That being said my family owns 5 iPods and we love them.

I got into a computer fight with one of my mom's friends who is a computer science person, etc. She was telling me how she made a slideshow with music and put it on a DVD and it took a few days.

In the time it took her to open the file, I had made one of my own.

SOLD.
