Its all a matter of what you are doing. If you are using it for strictly personal use (email, photos, videos, surfing web) then Mac.

If you are using it in a professional setting I personally prefer Windows. I use to own a powerbook two years ago. It was ok. Did the job.

True, that is a personal preference. I use Macs for both work and play. My company tries to use only Macs. We have two Win boxes, and there really is no reason for them. Almost anything that is offered for Windows, is offered on a Mac with more stability.

get a mac, there are plenty of programs for mac that are equivalent or better than its pc counterparts. Lots of software is free or low priced too and very frequently updated.

You can also run windows on your mac, but you can't run mac osx on a pc.

PDF

If you use Word and convert the document to a PDF you will find a issue with the MAC; with each section break Word will create a new PDF also Word (for Mac) has problems making a PDF with large document that have lots of photos. In my case I create the document in using my MAC and then use my PC and Adobe writer to create the PDF.

Not true actually. The solution is to use Apple's iWork, with Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Using Pages (Apple's version of Word), you can instantly create a PDF. You just go to file>export and click on the PDF button. It's that easy. Using the same method, you can instantly convert to a .Doc file that can be read by Word. Ever tried it Blue? It's amazingly simple .

Solution Word 2008 only: All versions: In OS 10.5 (Leopard), you can combine PDF files using Preview. Check Preview Help for more detail. In OS 10.4 (Tiger), or earlier OS versions, use a utility such as Combine PDFs or PDFLab to merge the multiple files. Both donationware, both tested and recommended by MVPs. http://www.word.mvps.org/mac/MultiplePDFs.html
