Honda Fit...I drove one. Small, but amazing.
The '09 is repkg'd for a tad more room and even more goodies. The "sport" model handles very well, does 34-35 on the highway and "loaded" to the gills, comes in at less than $17Gs... BR,mD http://automobiles.honda.com/fit/environment.aspx

I hear you Blue...I'm personally passing on the hybrids for awhile.
The Fit is a fun car to toss, has much more "stuff space" inside, and I just like it better. Don't care for a diesel or hybrid at this time...alas, we are sitting on, and keeping the Fridge, X and Vette anyhoo. New cars are big dough and a real hit to the nest egg, imo. BR,mD |

The Hybrids in no way appeal to me. I don't think the fuel savings is worth the complexity or the fact I'd most likely have to drive a Japense car.... The diesels are appealing on paper but I'll save final judgement for when I get to drive one. |

Interesting discussion here because I have to replace my DD/Station "car" Trailblazer early in 08.
I've gone through the back and forth and logic of all of the options and I'm unable to come to a conclusion. I'm waffling back and forth between the Tahoe on regular gas (regular gas/space/4x4/reliability/cost) vs. others like an X3 (premium gas/better MPG/higher cost/less space) etc etc etc. And yes, Hybrids with 4x4 and space are very costly which negates the gas savings unless you're planning on keeping it for 10 years, and there is still the question of what the creation and disposal of the LiOn battery packs cost and harm to the environment... Luckily I have a few months to figure this out... I think I'm going to need it.

Ugh. If I had absolutely no other choice but to drive a vehicle based on the criteria listed, it would be a MINI.
