Its funny the responses in a thread "Bush is a Moron"

And I do know Soldiers - my father in law and his brothers were soldiers in Vietnam. So I know the mentality and had the opp to speak with them. Ironically, the object to this war for the same reasons I do.

Doing what you are told to do is different than doing it blindly and knowing the real reasons. I honestly feel that the majority of soldiers do not object to being there and have the mentality of Lam.

Also Wag, its clear what he means. And, don't ask, don't tell.

That would be correct.

Actually it was not obvious to me as I don't follow Boi's dating patterns with any frequency.

The purpose of Iraq was to find Bin Laden right? The president used an American tragedy for his own selfish purposes. Like Wagner said.. what's up with Afghanistan?

Ok, so by your math posted 600,000 killed over 24 years.

By my math posted there are different numbers.. 20,000 killed in 2003.. Lets say the war started in 2002 (9/11 was 2001).

so in 1 year, 20k - its been 6=120k.
so 120k per 6 yrs. So this is on pace for 120k times 4 (24yrs divided by 6yrs=4). So this war is on pace to have a civilian body count of 480,000.

All the #s are estimated - so maybe it isn't more than Saddam - but we can probably say that both estimates are close in terms of death toll.

Anyway.. onto the "link rebuttal"

Interesting, some analysts think gas prices may hit $7.00 before the end of the summer.

please don't even joke about that. $65 to fill a 3er is bad enough, $100 is frightening.

I think theres a lot to do with the fact that oil families are in the power seats right now and high prices. AND the fact that we are pissing off the folks at OPEC while in Iraq.

You guys need to watch your C-SPAN....

Last week the heads of all the oil companies testified before the Senate Energy Committee. What was discussed during the hearing is that at no time during the last 5 years have the oil companies used more than 85% of their current refining capacity. When confronted with this, the oil execs basically tap-danced around the questions on this subject.

Until they are using their entire refining capacity, the excuse that there is not enough refining capacity is BS.
