Shell I keep my 2005 X5 4.4i? Or give it back to the dealer?

My 39 month lease is up in Nov., and I will use up whole 49K mi by that time.
I had all the options but Nav and Sports Package. Residual will be around 35K from $60k-ish original price.

1. I know due to the SUV price fall the car won't be worth 35k. Fallen resale value won't be no longer my problem if I give it back to them despite some sentimental value I have.

2. I am looking at some some AUDI sedan's and station wagon because I want 4-weels drives that looks good too. (20ish MPG preferred). I waited for a year but new X5s just don't grow on me. Also I feel that committing to old old technology might not be a good idea due to recent advent of battery technology and so on. I could get a lease that I could write off as expense.

At least I am certain that buy that car paying full price will be very illogical decision, and dealer won't negotiate much from what I hear.

What shall I do?
