One of the questions in the original post was "Have we seen an end to manufacturers releasing BIG ENGINE *new vehicles " due to higher gas prices and the 2nd post related to V8's etc.

Try to keep up Blue.

The point here is that not all V8's are gas guzzlers and not all luxury cars that have V8's are gas guzzlers.

i know mercedes is coming out with a hybrid for the S CLass this year.
im probably gonna switch to a car when the time comes for a change (was thinking of a range rover sport before the fuel crisis) maybe an SLK or a used SL

But will BMW still release an "is" version of the X5?
Would anyone buy it? What about the ///M version of the X6?

If you were a manufaturer, wouldn't you be thinking of scrapping those models right about now?

Even if they could sell a few to the very wealthy, SUV's are just sitting on lots right now, so why release a new model with a bigger engine?

I'm sure a few of you guys are getting fed up but if it cheers you up I've just worked out that we are paying $9 USD per US (not uk) Gallon based on £1.20 per metric litre.

Road tax was about £225 going up to £455 per year in 2010 for all X5's made after 1/3/01.

So it could be worse..lol

I pay $700 per month for my health insurance (not to mention the deductable every time I go to the doctor). How much does yours cost?

haha, that was a good response....I get tired of the 'you don't pay as much as us' crap as well. Especially considering US prices have gone up over 300% in 6 years, where as EU prices have gone up 90%.
