That is fine, did he define any of that? That is unbelievably vague IMO.

Sounds pretty specific to me. It also seems to be a more realistic approach to both long term and short term relief at the pump. While Bush's and McCain's costal and ANWR drilling plan may slightly reduce our dependance on foreign oil, relief will not come in the near future.

Short term: go after speculators

Long term: 150b investment over 10 years in alternative energy solutions

I also think that McCain's $300m search for the best rechargable car battery was short sighted and limited because he did not consider other other energy sources. How about an incentive to figure out how to lay out the infrastructure and distribution for hydrogen fueling stations?

There objective is not short term relief but stability, major difference. There is no short term relief, markets don't work that way.

You know, although I liked watching 24, I always felt that the show laid out the blueprint to terrorists on various ways to attack America. In the same vein, Charlie Black's statement was a welcomed invitation to terrorists.

If they could hit the US mainland, they would. They didn't need him to say that.

According to a Washington Post/ABC poll taken just last week, 23% of Americans said race played a part in their decision on who to vote for, including 13% who said it was "very important".
