WARNING: Some readers may find this offensive

I love speed. I was the fastest runner in elementary school through high school. i gave up running my sophomore of high school when i got my drivers license. i used to race my dads Nissan Maxima every chance i got. In college i got a motorcycle (Yamaha 750) which I rode like a mad man. I retired it when i graduated and moved back to the city. After 5 yrs of not having a motorized vehicle I bought a 1995 Porsche 911 Cab. I once drove it from Easthampton to the West Village (100 miles) in 56 mins (top speed 152 mph). Recently my girlfriend and i drove my 2005 4.4 X to Niagra falls. We decided to make it a leisurely 2 day 500 mile trip on the way there. On the way back, we woke up at 530am and started the 420 mile return trip. For most of the way there was no traffic to speak of (top speed 130mph). I covered 420 miles in 4 hours and 4hrs 45 mins. I would love to hear stories from anyone else who is obsessed with driving at high speeds.

lol
crazy stuff
fastest ive gone is 125mph....

yeah but it consumes sooo much fuel, i pretty much saw half a tank just disappear......
you know what would be cool, is seeing what an x5 looks like at that kinda speeds (from another cars point of view)....

and its really really dangerous , hopefully i'll never do those kinda speeds again.. doesnt matter how big the car is, you watch those safety crash tests and realise that those results are only done at LESS THAN 50mph!!!!!! imagine what would happen at 3 times those speeds!

You should go track the X if you like to drive that fast. I'm no priest but no matter how careful YOU are, sh*t happens. People do stupid stuff. If you wipe out at those speeds, you're toast.

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
Going fast say 80 to 100 on LIE at night with little traffic is no problem, except for the cops. Waving in and out to get around the jerks going slow is much more risky. Waving in and out on a bike is much more risky.

i agree with you but i have a problem. an alcoholic knows he shouldnt drink but he does it anyway. 30 yrs of driving, zero accidents. perhaps my first will be my last.

totally agree with you. i never weave in and out of jerks. usually the left lane clears for me. successfully driving at high speeds requires a high level of anticipation. i always expect someone to do something stupid and have no problem tapping the brakes. i always slow down to normal speeds (80 ish) when passing.

I did over 140mph on a motorcyle on a public highway when I was 17 ....in hindsight, one of the most stupid things that I've ever done, and believe me my stupid list is long.

Or perhaps you'll kill someone else and have to live with yourself, probably in jail.

I'm done posting in this thread. Be careful out there.
