I have owned my X5 for 2 months now and recently learned that when geting out of the car in the dark you flash your lights once and they remain on for 40 secs illuminating your way ...

Also only recently I noticed the little lights under the mirrors that go on when unlocking the vehicle

I've had mine for almost two years, but I recently learned that if you push up on the switch to roll up your window, and then shut off the car (say, when you pull up to your house), the window continues to roll all the way up until completely closed -- so long as the key is still in the ignition. I thought that what pretty cool.

What year is your X5? I never heard about the flashing lights= 40 sec on deal. Sounds interesting.

A month and half into owning the car, I discovered that I may not be able to afford the payments. Sheeess.

I have an '03, and I have that as well. I think they've all had it. Next time you pull up to your driveway in the dark, turn off the car, pull the key out, and "flash" your high-beams. The lights will come on long enough (like they said, 40 seconds, I believe) to light your way onto the front door. Nice little feature.

Another thing I have learned on this board. I didn't know about the Sport setting on my transmission. Obviously I didn't read the Owner's Manual too well the first day.

Now, to really use that Sport setting!!
